Rainy work days!

Things change so much here... I always hesitate posting new news in fear it will change soon after!! :) As I was working, Daniel came in and told me our current landlord said we could stay here until the 26th of September now, because the other couple doesn't need it until then! So instead of packing, cleaning, moving, unpacking..staying for a month... then packing, cleaning, moving, and unpacking.. We will only have to move once...and that will be to the house we will actually be staying in! I'M SO EXCITED! Now it won't be as stressful with this new job since we won't have to move as much! Praise The Lord! As much as I wish God would of just left stuff how it was originally planned to be cause that's how it ended up...I'm glad He didn't! He wanted us to grow from this! :)
Work update: First day went well! Compared to some of the jobs I've done in the past which had an overload of information (Schoolbus + Starbucks) ..this one far out weighs them! Of course it will be overwhelming at first... So I am anxious to know my way around and know what I am doing!:) It was a pretty easy, but unpredictable day due to the weather! I just observed and tried to soak in the information! :) After work I went out to the yard to pick some wildflowers (pictured above!) to add some beautiful color to our little apartment! :)
Praying the sky clears up tomorrow...if it does.. Daniel and I will get the opportunity to take a ride on a float plane, see beautiful scenery, take pictures, and be a tourist! :) I will definitely have a post about it if we end up going! :)

We won't be homeless! (:

We have good news! There is a place behind the church that is available for us to stay this next month! It's so cool to see the way God provides for our needs and comforts us during the waiting period and gives us peace! Waiting in the unknown even though I know God has it under control is so hard for me! I like to know what the plan is, prepare myself for what's next, and have time to process it all before it becomes a reality.. I'm not very good with last minute drastic changes.. But maybe after this Alaskan adventure and Gods help, I will be able to handle it a bit better and get used to it! :)
Along the lines of drastic change.. (Haha) we talked about the idea of me (Megan) working... But thought it might be good to get used to life up here and wait until we move to the place we will be staying "permanently" and settle in there before I got a job! With all the moves, packing and unpacking over and over again, it might be hard learning a new job at the same time! The thought seemed a bit overwhelming!
So with that said, just this afternoon, Daniel came home for lunch with some news! He said how his work was in need of a dispatcher... How Jael was leaving soon so someone would need to be trained before she left.. And if I want the job.. I would start tomorrow! Ahhhh! One part of me was like, PRAISE GOD! I eventually wanted a job and this one just got thrown at me! But the timing seemed so off! The hard part is, it's not really a job that people said they'd recommended!
As the day goes on, I am feeling more of a peace about it and I'm feeling up for the challenge! :) Daniel said If I do choose to work there and I don't think it's the job for me, I can freely quit! So I think..why not at least try? We will see how it goes! I may end up loving it!! Plus..there are not a lot of job opportunities here so I can't be too picky! :)
There are several pros to working there:
1) I will get to work with Daniel! (..and like he said..I will be able to boss him around) haha! ;)
2) I will meet and get to know people a lot better!
3) Having a second income will be helpful since it is so expensive to live here! :)
4) Daniel already knows the job so he can help me out, give me advice, and he'll have my back!
5) A friend encouraged me that we will be able to understand and have conversations that we probably wouldn't of had otherwise if I didn't work there! I will know terms, people, how things should go, what plane he is talking about, and schedules! So if one of us has a bad day at work we will understand better what that person is talking about and how they feel! Because right now, Daniel will come home and share about his day.. and sometimes I get kind of lost! :)
So with that said, I hopefully will get a good nights sleep, fight off this cold that is trying to take over, and learn a lot about a new job in the morning!
We love you all!

The Never Ending Move!

I'll be honest with you! This hasn't been the easiest move... because it's not over yet! We have been here since the beginning of August and have already had several moves with another unexpected one at the end of the month! We don't know where we will be living in September until the house opens up beginning of October! There has been no settling in! No decorating our first home together! Simply waiting and hanging out, still living out of suitcases, not being able to find anything, and trying not to open up the totes I shipped up here; afraid they will explode due to how well my dad packed them! :) This has been a stressful month, but one that only makes us grow closer as a couple and grow closer to God as we look to Him for peace and direction! There have been a lot of hiccups with this move, lots of uncomfortable changes, and unanswered questions about where we will be living in 13 days! Feeling like we are tiptoeing around and things can change at any moment, I am encouraged that God never changes! He will continue to provide and take care of us! He won't stop loving us and He isn't surprised by our situation. He has gone before us and only He knows what the next few months hold! I'm just blessed to serve and love an all-knowing, all-powerful, faithful God! :] God has this and that gives us peace! :D

Alaska, Here We Come!

We had checked in our bags and walked to security, Daniel gave me a nod and said "It's time." I had been dreading this moment since the beginning of summer! It was time to say goodbye to our family and head to Alaska! I had been excited for this move but knew it would mean I would have hard goodbyes to give! The worst part was not knowing when we would all be together again. Brittany and my parents were living in Florida and Amber, DJ, and the kids were going back to Brazil! Being together again may be closer than I think but it feels like an eternity! I proceeded to put on my sunglasses since I knew once I'd give my first hug I would lose it! After the painful goodbyes, we made our way through security, being the only ones in line since we left from the little Bellingham airport! One of the guys working on the scanner noticed something in Daniels bag, they ended up putting it through the scanner two more times before an alarm buzzed which forced them to go through and swab everything in his bag as well as giving him an intense pat down! What caused all this? Smoked salmon we got during our honeymoon!! (: They let us keep it in the end and when daniel was cramming everything back in his bag worried about missing our flight the security worker told us, without even looking at our ticket, that we would be fine and it was the first gate. They only had two flights going out that night.. haha!
We survived out late night flights without much excitement, except on the last flight it was really empty, we probably filled 1/10 of the seats if that! A drunk lady asked the stewardess for a drink to-go but was refused! She was so sick and had way to much to drink!  She decided to move to the seats right behind us and moan and talked to herself the rest of the flight!
By the time the hotel shuttle picked us up, it was past two! We had reserved the room online while in Seattle on our layover! It looked like a nice place for the cheapest yet overpriced rate! It was more expensive than our full cabin on the bay for our honeymoon! But we were in Alaska now, everything is more expensive! I thought I had braced myself for it, but was still shocked! Let's just say it looked much nicer online! :)
Anchorage was much different than I always imagined. Homeless people with all their belongings lined the streets in certain parts of town, people jogging at 2am, and more taxi's then I've ever seen in my life! (I have yet to go to New York City:)
We had two jam packed days of shopping in bulk for at least a month in advance and buying everything you would need to start a new home: toilet paper, crockpot, baking soda, soap, whisk, zip locks, foil... And so on..the list was never ending! So after a couple cart loads and stops at every store imaginable we were ready to go!
It had been 10 years since I flew in such a small plane. It takes getting used to and thankfully I didn't get sick! :)
We have been here 5 days! I have been able to meet some really nice people and see a few who I already knew! It's so nice to see familiar faces in a new place! We have been invited over for a few meals already...everyone has been so sweet and welcoming!
As I'm writing this, I'm sitting in a small loft made for a child, hunched over so my head doesn't hit the ceiling while on a single bed that Daniel and I have been sharing, listening to Rend Collective, snuggled in our oversized knitted blanket in a room with Lego structures filling every shelf! The room is about 5 by 15 feet with ALL our belongings piled high! Don't worry, we are only in this room a few days until the apartment opens up! Then we will be there a month or two until the house we will be living in is vacant! Sounds kind of crazy! But I am feeling very blessed to have a warm place to sleep and a family who opened up their home for us to stay until we can move into our place!
Today was Daniels day off, we decided to splurge and go The General, a local coffee shop/restaurant!! It was a special treat! We were going to walk to the falls, but it was windy and rainy so we decided to wait and go another day!
Here are a few pictures of our adventures!
